Guthman Musical Instrument Fair | Saturday, March 13th at 1:00 pm

Meet the finalists in Georgia Tech’s 2021 Guthman Musical Instrument Competition. In this interactive virtual event, you’ll learn about innovative new musical instruments pushing the limits of art, technology, and design. Completeness | Sunday, March 14th at 7:30 PM (multiple showings)
Presented by: Horizon Theatre, Science ATL
Tune in for a reprise of our popular science-based theatrical production, Completeness. In Completeness, Elliot, a computer scientist, and Molly, a molecular biologist, are struggling with the realities of romance. When love is the answer, how do these two intellectuals manage to figure out the equation in the first place? When Elliot builds a computer program to help Molly with her research project, the variables in their evolving relationship shift as rapidly as the terms of their experiment. You’ll see both their romantic triumphs and regressions mirrored in the science they create. Stick around after for a talk-back with some super scientists!

Science Improv | Monday, March 15th at 7:30 pm
Presented by: Whole World Improv Theatre, Georgia Tech
It’s improv comedy with a science twist! Tune in to see experienced improv actors and professional scientists take the virtual stage together to put on a unique entertainment and educational experience. We’ll get your scientific suggestions to drive the performance, and you’re sure to have a great time and come away having learned something too! Comedy improvisation has never been geekier.
50% of proceeds from the donations will go to the performers and 50% go to Carlos Giron fund. Carlos was a Latino improviser who worked as a mainstage actor at Whole World Theater and died unexpectedly. He was a gifted geek who performed at many Science Improv shows, and the fund supports his Legacy at the nonprofit theater. Learn more about this event.
The Shift | Saturday, March 13th at 8:00 pm (multiple showings)

In this virtual, immersive theatre experience, the United States has undergone a significant change. Due to “The Shift,” life as we know it is obsolete, and there is a shortage of natural resources, including water.
A river runs north to south through the city, and “The Fault-Line” divides the town. The wealthy citizens of Fault North have dammed and rerouted the river, leaving the working-class people in Fault South without a sufficient water supply. Three female engineers from Fault South plan to reroute the city water system, and they need the audience’s help. Register here.

Tune in to catch scientists getting your attention, not with jazz hands, but with comedic bits about their research. The scientist comedians will be trained by Dr. Lew Lefton and Dr. Pete Ludovice – official doctors of philosophy AND unofficial doctors of science comedy. After the comedy sets, we’ll all have the chance to dig deeper into the science with interactive Q & A and games!
Half the donations for this event will go to Science for Georgia and the other half will be given to an organization dedicated to serving underrepresented minorities in science. Register here.
The Story Collider | Friday, March 26th at 7:00 pm

The Story Collider brings true, personal stories about science to life. At this online story hour with three Atlanta tellers, you’ll hear from scientists tell heartwarming (and heartbreaking) stories about their failures, successes, and everything in between, and you’ll also hear from people who haven’t had a formal connection to science in years. This show will feature stories connected to tellers’ personal trials with COVID-19.
