Data Poetics

Presented by Emory University - Department of Computer Science, W.J. Lofton

What does slam poetry have to do with computer science? Allow us to introduce data poetics -- artistic expression, fueled by data. In this workshop, you will learn about the impact of how data captures our world and how language can be used to express it. You will have the opportunity to write a poem, sketch visualizations of data to accompany the poem, and (optionally) perform it.
