Eco-Geo Expedition

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

A note from the organizers: The safety of our community is our highest priority at Georgia State University. Out of an abundance of caution regarding the weather forecast and the current coronavirus situation, our ASF at GSU event, "Eco-Geo Expedition" at Arabia Mountain is cancelled. We are coordinating with Atlanta Science Festival representatives regarding the possibility of rescheduling and information will be disseminated as decisions are made and options are clear.
Please contact Christy Visaggi ([email protected]) for additional information.

Grab your phone and get ready to hike up Arabia Mountain for a scavenger hunt that includes geocaching, identifying unique species, and finding geologic features beneath your feet! Stop by the nature center to claim your scavenger hunt card before you get started and consider joining a guided hike to learn about plants, insects, and more as you explore the landscape. Learn how to use the iNaturalist, Rockd, and Geocaching apps to record your observations and share your discoveries with the global community.
Groups will depart hourly. Parking at the base of Arabia Mountain at 3783 Klondike Road is free, but limited. Please carpool.

Alternatively, take MARTA bus 86 from Kensington Station or the 116 from Indian Creek Station to the Mall Pkwy @ Klondike Rd stop. From there, walk west and then south along the PATH trail for about 2.5 miles to the visitors center, or exit the PATH trail earlier along one of the unpaved nature trails.
