2018 Festival Event:
Nerdy Derby
Build your own innovative car, or come get help from folks to create your own vehicle to speed down the 30+ foot track. The Nerdy Derby is a twist on the Pinewood Derby, but where all rules are thrown out and the focus is on rewarding creativity, cleverness, and ingenuity. Cars can be made from wood, plastic, cardboard, or whatever you dream up. Just make sure the wheels are 1¾“ apart and the car isn’t more than 5” wide.
There will be three race sessions; one at the top of each hour (12pm, 1pm, and 2pm), and the work stations for building cars will shut down at 2pm, when the last race starts. So get there in plenty of time for the race slot you want!
This is an outdoor event. In case of bad weather, head on inside to the M.R. Hollis Innovation Academy Gymnasium.
