In this hands-on teacher workshop, you will develop skills to bring the cutting edge of biology and space exploration into your own classroom. With an innovative teaching toolkit from miniPCR, you will solve a food contamination crisis at the International Space Station using the essential biotech techniques of PCR and electrophoresis. Then we will share information about the Genes in Space science competition where teachers and students design authentic DNA research proposals for space. Participants can win biotech equipment for their schools and winners will get their experiments launched to the International Space Station!

Come on out to play with Robots and Pancake Bots! Kids will participate in two challenges: Robot Racing and Pancake Design. In the Robot Racing activity, we will learn basic coding and then get into teams for a friendly race competition with robots. The Pancake Design challenge will tap into your creativity in designing intricate pancakes and then 3D printing them with our PancakeBot. Yum!

Atlanta’s Dance Canvas and Arts @Tech come together to explore the bridges between movement, technology, science, and life. With a focus on humanity, culture, and how dance can innovate, this performance highlights the creativity of emerging new voices in dance. The performance begins at 8pm, but come early at 7pm for a special ASF talk-back with choreographers Adam McKinney and Emily Cargill to discuss collaborations between arts & tech.
