Educators are invited to experience the Carlos Museum's new STEAM tour and explore an interactive "science fair" of classroom-ready activities based on art conservation practices and paired with Georgia Performance Standards. Docents will lead gallery tours, highlighting how science impacts long-term care, conservation treatment, and research on collections. Conservators and chemistry students will demonstrate lab activities on a variety of topics including solubility, pH, corrosion, light microscopy, cellular structure, etc. Registered participants will also enjoy a reception and door prizes. Not an educator? No need to fret – you can still enjoy the STEAM tour at 2pm during ASF opening weekend, March 19 & 20 (email if you are interested in this opportunity)
