Did you know there are more than 250,000 kinds of plants in the world? There are 50,000 tree species alone! And every year scientists discover new plants. So how do people tell the differences between them? Every plant has leaves, flowers, bark, or other characteristics that make it unique. Come to this plant classification event to see how it feels to be the scientists! Together we will talk about some of the “unique” characteristics of plants. When you leave, you’ll be able to classify plants just like a scientist. Sessions will be held each hour (10am, 11am, 12pm, and 1pm), and free admission will be given to the History Center for those who attend. Register here.

This class will be taught by professionals with the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service through its partnership between Georgia 4-H and the Atlanta History Center.
